It’s an exciting time for women in mining and drilling as the industry continues to focus on creating a sustainable future. Developing talents and leadership skills of women is a crucial part of that vision. That’s why Major Drilling sent several of its leaders to attend the SHRM 2023 Linkage Women in Leadership Conference.
Bhing Maglantay, Major Drilling America Financial Controller of USA Operations, earned a Certificate for Women in Leadership during her time at the event. She felt the experience gave her connections and experience to advance her career at Major Drilling.

Janice Cormier, Major Drilling Global Fleet and Inventory Specialist, said, “My experience at the Women in Leadership Institute was incredible. I have so many takeaways from each of the keynote speakers and have had the chance to share this experience with incredible ladies from Major Drilling. I’m proud to work for a company that makes me feel valued.”
The conference is part of the Society of Human Resource Management’s efforts to advance women and accelerate inclusion in leaders and organizations. These aims are helping shape the composition of boards, guide decision making and ensure confidence for companies and organizations to include more women at the highest levels.
“We believe in leadership development,” Ben Graham, Major Drilling Vice President HR & Safety, said. “As a society and as a company, we have a lot of work ahead to reach gender parity. Still, with leaders like the women at Major Drilling who attended this event, we are confident we will have great role models to follow who continue to strengthen our industry.”
